The Panhellenic Association of State School Teachers of English (PEKADE), housed in Athens, was set up in 1978 as a non-profit association of teachers of English.

Today, its members amount to 3000 teachers in Primary and Secondary state school education. The Association has developed, all over Greece, a wide range of activities with the aim to upgrade the English teacher's role in the field of the English language teaching.
